ABOUT ROTARACT

Rotaract is a global community of young adults who are dedicated to service, leadership, and professional development. Rotaract clubs bring together people, starting at 18 years of age, to exchange ideas and engage in service projects. They provide opportunities for the enhancement of knowledge and skills to develop leadership skills, and aid in personal and professional development. They also focus on finding innovative solutions to the physical and social challenges faced by communities and promoting better relationships among all people.

A Rotaract club is sponsored by a Rotary club and is a program of Rotary International, adopted by the Board in 1968. Rotary and Rotaract members collaborate globally, working side by side to take action through service and create meaningful change in communities like yours.

The Rotary Four-Way Test

Rotary Four-Way Test of the things we
think, say and do:
Is it the truth?

Is it fair to all concerned?
Will it build goodwill and better friendships?
Will it be beneficial to all concerned?

The Rotary Four-Way Test is a moral code for personal and business relationships. It guides Rotaractors and Rotarians in making decisions that are ethical and beneficial to all concerned.

The test consists of four questions:

  • Is it the TRUTH? - This question encourages honesty and integrity in all actions and decisions. It challenges individuals to seek and speak the truth, avoiding deception or dishonesty.

  • Is it FAIR to all concerned? - This question promotes fairness, equity, and justice. It encourages individuals to consider the impact of their actions on others, ensuring that no one is treated unfairly or unjustly.

  • Will it build GOODWILL and BETTER FRIENDSHIPS? - This question emphasizes the importance of fostering positive relationships and goodwill. It encourages actions that strengthen bonds of friendship, cooperation, and mutual respect.

  • Will it be BENEFICIAL to all concerned? - This question ensures that actions and decisions create positive outcomes for everyone involved. It promotes the idea of making choices that lead to mutual benefits and the greater good.

The Rotaract Pledge

To my Rotaract Club and Rotary
Family, I vow to serve faithfully;
Whomsoever I can, whenever I can
Wherever I can, and in any way I can,
in true Rotaract Spirit,
With Fellowship through Service.

The Rotaract Pledge is a declaration of commitment to the values and principles of Rotaract. It reflects the dedication of Rotaractors to uphold the ideals of service, fellowship, and leadership. While the exact wording of the pledge may vary by club, the essence remains consistent.

It emphasizes a deep sense of duty and willingness to serve the Rotaract Club and the broader Rotary family in any capacity, reflecting the core values of the organization. The pledge is a concise yet powerful reminder of the dedication required to uphold the Rotaract spirit.
