RY 2025-2026
The Disaster Risk Management & Environmental Sustainability Committee works to strengthen community resilience by promoting disaster preparedness, risk reduction, and emergency awareness, while championing environmental stewardship through sustainable practices, conservation efforts, and climate-conscious initiatives.
Below are the projects and initiatives carried out throughout this Rotary Year. Click each expandable section to explore each project's purpose, impact, and key highlights.
SUSTAINABILITY PLEDGE
Now in its second year, our Sustainability Pledge reaffirms the club’s ongoing commitment to integrating sustainable practices into everything we do. This initiative reflects our belief that meaningful change starts with consistent, practical action. Each signature represents a promise to lead with environmental awareness, social responsibility, and purpose-driven service. We were especially honoured to welcome Ms. Lauren Sampson, Senior Environmental Officer at the EPA, who joined us in signing the pledge and show support for our club’s continued efforts in advancing sustainability.
INTERNATIONAL COASTAL CLEANUP
Our club joined EPA Guyana and several local organisations for a Coastal Cleanup, uniting hands and hearts for a cleaner, greener Guyana. RCGC’s participation was coordinated by our Disaster Risk Management and Environmental Sustainability Committee, continuing our commitment to environmental stewardship and community action.
